I started my training with Prof. Dr. Rashad Barsoum and Prof. Dr. Maher Fouad in nephrology and kidney transplantation at Al-Salam Hospital and the Cairo Kidney Centre between 1985-1991.
 

In 1991, I moved to the UK to work and train in general medicine and nephrology. From December 1991 until August 1992, I worked as a senior house officer St. James University Hospital, Renal and Transplant Unit. In August 1992, I moved to the Manor Hospital in Walsall, the Midlands, to pursue general medicine and its several specialties as a rotation SHO and registrar. I then took the position of a registrar and senior registrar in Wessex Renal and Transplant Unit in Portsmouth till March 1996.
 
Between April 1997 and June 2000, I worked as a Consultant and Head of Department of Renal and General Medicine at Al-Mowasat Hospital in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. There, I established the Renal and Dialysis Unit at Al-Mowasat Hospital, which was chosen as the best renal unit serving Aramco in the Kingdom.

I returned to Cairo as a Consultant Renal Physician at Al-Salam Hospital Mohandesseen, Al Hayat Hospital and Al Sahel Teaching Hospital in 2000.

I am the head of the renal and dialysis unit at Al-Salam Hospital Mohandesseen. Further, I am a consultant of kidney transplantation at Al-Salam International Hospital, Maadi .

I have been a member of the Board of Directors at Al-Salam Hospital Mohandesseen since 2014.

Since 2004, I have been serving as an examiner in the MRCP clinical exam (PACES).

Recently, I established a new modern dialysis center at the Anglo-American Hospital in 2019.
